The Priority 1 Mission
Excellence in the practice of on-demand medical care while delivering the best possible customer experience to our patients.
The Priority 1 Vision
Priority 1 Urgent Care will offer patient-centered, high quality, and affordable urgent care to our community, emphasizing the essential value that the doctor-patient relationship brings to the healing process. We will do so using a team of highly experienced urgent care professionals who will always work to meet or exceed our customer’s expectations.
The Benefits of Urgent Care
Urgent care provides easy access to patients seeking care for various illness and injuries that should be taken care of sooner rather than later. Although these problems can often be dealt with in a primary doctor’s office, urgent care is able to assist when a patient either doesn’t have a primary doctor or the primary doctor is unable to see the patient at a time that meets the needs of the patient or their problem. In addition to regular business hours, urgent care offices are open weekends, evenings, and most holidays. Access to Priority 1 Urgent Care is easy, you never need an appointment to be seen.
Primary doctors do an excellent job providing preventative health care and looking after a wide variety of chronic medical needs. Urgent care is designed to treat the problems facing you today, and the primary doctor may suggest a visit to Priority 1 Urgent Care if they feel you would benefit from the kind of services found at an urgent care practice but not always available in a primary doctor’s office (EKG, stitches, X-Ray, IVs, etc).
In cases where your primary physician might send you to a hospital emergency room for a non-emergency condition, urgent care can eliminate a lot of the waiting and expense usually experienced in the ER since urgent care is always practiced at a much lower cost compared to an ER visit. At Priority 1 Urgent Care our goal is to provide high quality acute medical care, provided by a team of dedicated and experienced urgent care professionals, 100% focused on caring for you.

Jackcy Jacob, MD FACP FAAP
Dr. Jackcy Jacob is a double board-certified physician, specializing in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. She earned her Bachelors of Science and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the accelerated Physician Scientist Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She then earned her M.D. with distinction in research from Albany Medical College, and went on to complete residency in Medicine-Pediatrics at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. A highlight of her career was working as a hospitalist at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York where she loved serving veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf Wars, as well as post-9/11 and peace time eras.
Prior to joining the medical staff at Priority 1 Urgent Care, Dr. Jacob gained experience as an urgent care physician working for several years at another local urgent care provider. Jackcy explains “I love giving patients the extra attention that really sets us apart as care-givers, I see myself as a partner of my patients in their healthcare. I value building the physician-patient relationship, which is especially challenging and, in many ways, more rewarding in the setting of the ultra-short urgent care visit, where patients need to feel safe and listened to while given expert health care during a very short time frame.”
In her spare time, Dr. Jacob is usually picking up after her own young kids, which she actually looks forwards to since one of her favorite pastimes is organizing and attempting to "create order out of chaos." She loves living in the Capital District, where she eagerly anticipates the autumn colors and winter snowboarding.
Ryan Walker, MD
Ryan Walker MD is board-certified in General Surgery, having graduated from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine before going on to train in Surgery at the York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. After completing his surgical residency Dr. Walker began practicing in Amsterdam, New York prior to joining the Priority 1 Urgent Care team. He is a Hudson Valley native, born and raised in Wappingers Falls, New York.
Ryan’s pre-medical experiences, including obtaining his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Ithaca College and later working for several years as a hospital emergency department technician prior to entering medical school, clearly helped shape his future path, as he is very comfortable handling a wide variety of emergency and urgent medical situations. Dr. Walker believes that surgeons are generalists by training, and are capable of treating a broad range of conditions with an eye towards active treatment, as well as utilizing more typical observational care models. Ryan enjoys the diverse clinical problems urgent care patients present with. He finds that establishing a productive relationship with his patients during the typically brief urgent care visit to be both a challenging and highly rewarding aspect of the practice.
When not working, Dr. Walker enjoys spending time with his wife (a fellow physician) and their two kittens; he’s also an avid outdoor enthusiast, equally happy either cycling or downhill skiing, depending upon the seasons.
