How Insurance Billing Works for Patients at Our Walk-In Clinic in Guilderland, New York

If you’re planning on using medical insurance to pay for your urgent care visit at Priority 1 Urgent Care, our staff is available to ensure the process goes smoothly. If you have a high-deductible or cost-sharing insurance plan, we use real-time benefit verification to determine your estimated out-of-pocket responsibility. The full estimated amount will be securely collected at the time of your visit and applied to your deductible or co-insurance after your insurance processes the claim.Any required co-payments are due at the time of service. Payments may be made by credit card, debit card, cash, or HSA/FSA card. Tap-to-pay options (Apple Pay and Google Pay) are also accepted.

We submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. Based on real-time benefit verification, we determine your estimated out-of-pocket responsibility and securely collect that amount at the time of your visit. After your insurance processes the claim, we reconcile your account. Any remaining balance will be communicated and may be processed through your secure payment method on file. If an overpayment occurs, a refund will be issued promptly.

FAQ About Insurance Coverage and Billing at Our Urgent Care Clinic

  • Patients are encouraged to present a valid insurance card at the time of service. If unavailable, patients may still be seen with valid photo identification and insurance member information, or may elect to self-pay for the visit at the time of service and seek reimbursement from their insurer after their visit.

  • If you believe there has been a billing error, Priority 1 Urgent Care will work with you to review the matter and issue a refund if appropriate. We only bill patient-responsible amounts as determined by the insurance carrier in the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) issued by the insurer. Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance carrier with coverage questions upon receipt of their EOB. For billing questions or to discuss a statement, contact the Priority 1 Billing Office at 1-833-212-4040, weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Payments may be made:

    • By phone through the Billing Office

    • Online using the Solv portal on our website

    • In person at our Western Avenue location

    • By mail via USPS

  • After an insurance claim is submitted for your urgent care visit, your insurance company will process the claim and send you back an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) which outlines what portion of the visit was covered by insurance and what amount, if any, remains the patient’s financial responsibility. Statements are typically sent by mail and may be followed by additional outreach from the Priority 1 Urgent Care team if payment is not received.

  • If a valid payment card is on file, Priority 1 Urgent Care may charge any remaining patient-responsible balances after reasonable notice has been provided, and in accordance with applicable law and our billing policies. Patients will be provided notice and an opportunity to review charges prior to any payment card being charged. If you have any questions about the Payment Card on File policy, please do not hesitate to contact us via telephone at (518) 867-8040, or by email at info@priority1urgentcare.com.

What They Say…

Phenomenal care. They actually took their time in diagnosing me and listend. They ran a few tests based on presented symptoms, vs a guessing game, and a thought. Highly recommend this place.
